[ubuntu-za] Thunderbird behavior

This was just one of the problems that I was experiencing with 16.04. I 
could find no solution - to this or other problems. I've subsequently 
switched to Mint, which although based on 16.04, seems to have 
side-stepped the fairly widely experienced instability issues of 16.04.
