Hi Charl,
The way I do it
I use nano
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Then go to bottom of the file, add this
# discription of repo
deb ....
eg
# VLC Daily Build of stable branch
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/videolan/stable-daily/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main
save the file
NB : change "YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE" to the version of Ubuntu you use : trusty etc
William

Subject: [ubuntu-za] add-apt-repository
Hi Guys
I've got a server that does not have direct internet access. I does
however have access to an apt-cacher-ng server. I'm trying to add a PPA
repository, but the only links I can find explains how to add a PPA via:
- the desktop GUI (which the server doesn't have)
- the command add-apt-repository (which doesn't work because the server
does not have direct internet access).
How do I add a PPA from the command line without any of the above?
Thanks
Charl
