Evening guys ,

I have seen that the 3rd party software sources in the software updates
app and in the /etc/apt/sources.list file is not the
same. Sources.list have entries that "other software" in the software
app doesn't have and visa versa.
Why is this ? I always thought that sources.list and "other software"
entries should be the same.
Which one of the two is used when Ubuntu automatically check for updates
? Are both used ? And also which one
is used with manual apt-get update or is with that also both used ?

Thanx

Ubuntu 13.04 64bit
