You will need to decide for yourself what apps to use
search the repos for "video edit" or "video" or "movie" or "dvd"
there are a few like OpenShot, lives, kdenlive, pitivi, 2mandvd, bombono-dvd, devede, dvdauthor, dvdstyler, K3B

I used OpenMovieEditor and DVDStyler before
Anyone feel like porting Lightworks to Linux? :)
