Thanks Jedri, username seems to be fine:
jan at jan:~$ groups
jan adm cdrom sudo dip plugdev lpadmin sambashare
jan at jan:~$ id
uid=1000(jan) gid=1000(jan)
groups=1000(jan),4(adm),24(cdrom),27(sudo),30(dip),46(plugdev),109(lpadmin),124(sambashare)
