Hi Jan,

Your previous Firefox information, should be saved.

Just go back to the backup you made, go to your main folder (/home/Jan   
   for example)
Press ctl & H (To display hidden folders) and look for a file called 
.mozilla
Copy this file to your new install and replace the current file with the 
one from the backup.
Open Firefox again and everything should be back to normal.
