I've just upgraded, there still seems to be some ruff edges with the
upgrade (some packages did not install and I had to do a partial
upgrade afterwards),
but so far all is working.

I used:
update-manager -d

I'd say only upgrade now if you are experiencing instability at the
moment or you want to help out testing the beta so that the real
release will be more stable..
