Venue: Primi Life restaurant in the Lifestyle Garden Centre, Randpark ridge.

Hosted by Obsidian Systems, a company that understands how open source
can be utilised, modified and successfully implemented in today's
business world, the Free Beer Sessions bring leading local
technologists together to share their views on the South African open
source landscape.

The Free Beer Sessions provide a platform for open source admirers and
users to discuss industry trends, interact, engage and share ideas
from past experiences on their fields.

The speakers for the night will be Klaus Bergmann- Technical Sales
Support at IBM, Phillip Booysen- Technical Specialist and System
Architect in the Linux and Open Source arena at FNB, and Schalk
Heunis- Demand Intelligence Specialist at Enerweb.

Klaus Bergmann will be talking about the history, status and outlook
of Linux on the mainframe.

Booysen and Heunis will deliver a joint presentation about House4Hack,
a Hackerspace that they started. They will be sharing what open
hardware plus open software and collaborative intelligence can
deliver.
