Another Natty thread!
I installed Natty the other day. After struggling for ages with a busted x64
iso, I finally got the x86 iso and installed it onto my Thinkpad x100e.
I'm finding it quite a slick and good OS in general. I like unity, and I
will patiently wait for the next LTS so I can upgrade my desktop.
In another thread someone said Natty is slower, uses more power, and makes
the machine run hotter. Something about an upstream kernel bug.
I have found all these accusations to be untrue. My little netbook use to
set my desk on fire when I use it. It became hot as hell with Lucid. Now its
a cool cat (whale?). It wants to appear that it lasts slightly longer on
battery power, but I cant be sure. After installing Unity QT (That looks
exactly the same to me) it goes as stink.
All in all I'm quite happy with Natty, and I feel Ubuntu is slowly creeping
towards being a product that's ready to become the answer to a lot of
people.
