[ubuntu-za] Making an animated GIF from flv

Hello Guys,

I want to make an animated GIF to use as an Avatar.

The source is a flv video from youtube.

Could you give me some guidance as google has not been helpful.

I have edited the vid down to about 10sec's.

I now need to open it with Gimp, but this is where I am stuck.
