Are you perhaps using WINE on this box? Crossover perhaps? That is the only
way you would be able to run exe binaries on your Ubuntu installation.
Uninstall WINE or whatever you are using to run windows software and see if
the fake notifications stop.

We are a bitdefender reseller, they have a server av for Linux, and no, you
just wasted some bucks. Clamav would have been the better option.
