Hi Juan,
That's strange, I tried a friend's Vodacom USB modem in 9.10 and it
worked perfectly. Just plugged it in, open network manager and ran
through the add mobile broadband wizard and it listed Vodacom under the
SA options and it just worked. No hassles.
