Hi Johan,

I think that the package that you have to install is xul-ext-gears

Just check

in the repos for gears it says "This is a transitional dummy package to ease the migration from the gears to the new xul-ext-gears package. You can remove it safely."

I encountered the following problem while trying to install Google Gears
on Ubuntu 10.04. Google Gears provides off-line access for Google Calendar.
Install Failure Message:
"Google Gears could not be installed because it is not compatible with
your Firefox build type (Linux_x86-gcc3). Please contact the author of
this item about the problem."
Any advice?
