I agree about the wiki - it needs to be an MediaWiki. I've used others, 
but they don't come near to the range of extension, settings and just 
the plain professional look of a MediaWiki. It's a MySQL and resources 
hog, but it's worth it.

Also you might want to consider something like OpenWack (which will be 
released next month) as maybe a viable option for planet. It comes with 
it's own blog, forum, and other semi-social network features. I'm 
planning to use it on another project myself next month.
