Hi.

Some of you might remember me posting here a while ago with issues getting Ubuntu set up as my primary development environment.

I'd like to extend a big thank you to the unsung heroes in the community, especially those that write blogs, contribute to various websites, the man pages and of course this list. Although I am still an Ubuntu newbie, I feel confident enough in the system and the community that I have taken the bold step to specify Ubuntu as the OS of choice for a project I might be doing for a local NGO.

The FOSS model has convinced me that it works - to a large extent due to the valued support from this group - and I have already begun introducing colleagues to the Ubuntu OS. People are jealous as to my stable environment, wicked performance and utter coolness! I remain curious to see how I will turn writing FOSS into a business model, but that is another adventure altogether.

So, in conclusion: Thank you for giving me more advice and support these past few months than I have received in 12 years from them that must not be named. It is with great pride that I can also say: No I don't have that problem, ever, I run Ubuntu!

Humble thanks
Ewald
