[ubuntu-za] Bad upgrade

Hi

Try to get to a terminal like so:

Press ctrl+alt button together and while holding them down press the F2 key. 

Hopefully you will see your screen change and there will be a prompt for your username - put that in wid ur password. Once at the prompt issue the commands: "sudo apt-get update", once that is done "sudo apt-get upgrade". 

This may fix things.
