Hi Guys

Just a quick note on Saturday...

A total of 6 guys arrived for the session, which was just right for the
venue. All of the guys were experienced programmers (mostly in other
languages). Which meant we could run through some detailed technical
stuff without much hassle.

We covered the command line use of:
- gcc
- make
- cmake
- gdb
- valgrind
- git

Finally we put it all together in Eclipse. We didn't actually work that
much with Eclipse after all. We we're all getting tired. The intention
wasn't to master these tools in one day, but to equip the guys with
basic knowledge to know what it's for and continue learning it
themselves for there on.

We had a great time. The session started at about 10h00 and went on
until about 15h00... with a few coffee breaks in between.

It didn't all quite go as well as I hoped, but I think now that I've
done it once I will be able to do much better the next time round.
That's if there is still an interest in repeating this session in other
areas?! Please, let me know.

Thanks guys for attending! I really enjoying sharing a bit of my
experience with you all!

Regards
Charl

PS: where can I post the photo?
