[ubuntu-za] Postgres issue

I have apache2, php & postgres installed on my Ubuntu 8.04 
server(www.stockton.co.za).
I can successfully run php scripts via the internet(see 
www.stockton.co.za/info.php) but even though I have edited php.ini to include 
postgres I cannot see it in the info.php as well as not be able to run scripts 
  that connect to postgres.
I did remember to restarted Apache2.
I must have forgotten something else but if someone could point me to what it 
is I would be grateful.
