[ubuntu-za] Video (TV) capture card

Hey, I recently built an HTPC using mythbuntu and a Hauppage PVR-150
tuner. It too defaulted as analog V4L capture card which, when following
the mythbuntu install guide, is wrong. I changed this to MPEG-2 Encoder
Card. In the manual however it indicates this only for the Hauppage
cards and I can't see if you indicated which card you are using.

Quoted from the mythbuntu manual:
"When choosing a capture source, it’s important to choose the correct
type. A very common error is when choosing the Hauppauge PVR Cards.
There is an option for MPEG-2 Encoder Card (PVR-X50, PVR-500) as well as
for standard V4L card. Be sure to choose the MPEG-2 encoder option here
if you use a Hauppauge card."

"If you are confused about any of the options, see the mythtv
documentation, mailing list, MythTV wiki
http://mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Video_capture_card, or LinuxTV wiki
http://linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/"

The build I did was with an onboard ATI graphics card - this required a
specific option in xorg.conf. I can't remember it off hand but it had to
do with an overlay option - if this wasn't enabled video and tv playback
was delayed/jerky (unwatchable). Once I get the entire machine working
100% (I chose an antec fusion black case with lcd display and volume
knob - nightmare!) I intend posting all the configurations I made and
hardware used.

Just keep going at it, you'll get there.
