[ubuntu-za] Video (TV) capture card

I have installed a capture card but am unable to get it to be recognised
by Mythtv, metv or tvtime.

Running lshw gives me:

so I take it that the card is recognised and should be working.

Metv gives me the message "No tuner device"

Tvtime has no opinion to express, but doesn't work.

In the Mythtv setup the card is recognised as:
Analogue V4L Capture card /dev/video0 - probed info = Unknown/Generic
(saa7134), but under System status/Tuner status it says "
Tuner 1 is not available".

Does anyone have any ideas on this?
