Hi Wikus
The Ubuntu software is translated using a web based system called
Rosetta which is part of Launchpad.
See https://translations.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+translations for
details. You can click on Afrikaans and then you will see individual
packages and the status of the translation effort for them.
You will need to create a Launchpad account in order to contribute - I
suggest you go ahead and do this because the same login is used in other
places - for wiki.ubuntu.com and shipit.ubuntu.com for instance.
Translating of documentation such as the Desktop Guide is also a
possibility - I'm not sure where the info on that is but check out
http://doc.ubuntu.com for the Ubuntu Doc Team info.
Translating wikis such as wiki.ubuntu.com or the ubuntu-za.org wiki is
not really feasible because the content changes without warning...
however we must put together some info on our local translation needs.
Cheers
Morgan
