[ubuntu-za] problem with synaptic package manager

i need the other version to make a few other things

root at ubuntu:~/rp-pppoe-3.7# export CC=gcc-3.4
root at ubuntu:~/rp-pppoe-3.7# ./go-gui
Running ./configure...
checking for gcc... gcc-3.4
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C
compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
Oops!  It looks like ./configure failed.
root at ubuntu:~/rp-pppoe-3.7#

as you can see when i do the -> export CC=gcc-3.4
nothing really changes, beacuse
