Hi
I looked at the list of video drivers we carry to identify the ones
that could be dropped from the meta package deps and/or from the archive:
apm
- LP: only bugs ever filed were sync requests
- Debian: only has one archived bug about a wrong dependency
- upstream bugs http://tinyurl.com/3wrfnku
+ all closed, nothing recent
ark

440BX based hw, which itself is from the 90's
- Debian: one bug in recent years, upstream 18122
- upstream bugs http://tinyurl.com/3eueuo3

voodoo
- LP: no open bugs
- Debian: one bug filed (manpage typo)

+ only one bug ever filed
Perhaps we still need these:
neomagic
- LP: three open bugs
- Debian: no open bugs,
- upstream: bugs filed http://tinyurl.com/3cwh8lp
+ 5 open bugs
- quite popular in semi-old laptops that are still used
s3
- LP: two open bugs
- Debian: latest bug filed early last year, no bugs open
- upstream: bugs filed http://tinyurl.com/3sjazqe
+ 3 open bugs
- used in some virtualisation setups?
The rest of the drivers are more or less needed.
