To clarify, IIRC the patch is the upstream "Big Hammer" patch, it's not
so much a "fix" as a set of tweaks and heuristics.

I did pass the patch on to the kernel team to put into a ppa for
testing.  It's funkiness gave them quite a start.  So don't count
chickens on this patch just yet.
