[ubuntu-x] Call for testing: nouveau open-source nvidia driver

I have the -10 kernel installed as a fallback in case changes to -11
bork the system.  You might be able to find an older kernel in a ppa.

Anyway, you can install multiple kernels and select between them at boot
time via the grub (hold down the left shift key during boot to see grub.)
