Alright -- so HDMI audio issue resolved by upgrading my kernel to
2.6.34-rc4. I'm all set :)
One small note: with the default Ubuntu kernel on 10.04 and the DRM
from 33.2 that it comes with my desktop kept a grey tone, as the old
default tones on Ubuntu 9.04. I thought that was just part of the
installation, but after installing 2.6.34 I now get the dark grey
tones for the desktop as it was on the beta2 LiveCD. So -- I did see
the dark grey tones on the LiveCD but not upon install. Not sure how
that happened and why upgrading my kernel "fixes" this :P
Anyway -- great stuff guys, now I only have to stick to a "stable" rc
kernel to get my hardware completely functional. It only took 2 years
after my original purchase.. but we go there.
