I think following Debian Squeeze should be most important. Since both
Debian and Ubuntu are a bit understaffed on the xorg part, even closer
coordination and more shared efforts would be good. And if RHEL is
going for 1.7 that sounds like a safe bet for an LTS release with many
upstream devs holding a close eye on it.

For mesa I think 7.7 is fine, from there on I have the feeling most
things will be happening in gallium-land, which will not be of LTS
stability for a while. Also, 7.7 is already in Fedora, so I guess it
is the choice for RHEL as well. BTW, I think we should not wait so
long before jumping on 7.7 and keep it updated to avoid any
bump-around-RC-surprises.
