Hi,
The discussion for a Graphical Configuration Tool for Wacom Tablets &
TabletPCs is scheduled tomorrow at UDS. I've read the specs at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Blueprints/WacomTabletsUi , and there's far
more options going into the specs than when we last discussed it in
ubuntu-x.

On Nov. 12, Bryce said "For Jaunty I think we should shoot for
a subset of that concept.". I've updated the UI mockup since at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Wacom/PropertiesMockup. However, since then
Alberto has created https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Blueprints/WacomTabletsUi
and there's lot of options going into that tool.

What are we shooting for in Jaunty?

Also, I'd like to participate to the discussion if it's possible -
either VOIP or IRC (#ubuntu-desktop maybe, since it's not really used?).

I've checked the xorg mailing lists archives for a few weeks, and
there's still no solution offered for the post-xorg.conf era. On another
note, if we're going to add all the options from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Blueprints/WacomTabletsUi in xorg.conf, the
file will get really big. Another approach is just creating the
necessary lines in xorg.conf, and keeping the options in a .wacomrc file
that the desktop would load at startup (so just xsetwacom lines), which
might be simpler (and quite easy for the user to understand + each user
can add its options/preferences without needing sudo rights - they'd
only be needed to add or remove wacom support in xorg.conf).

I can also do some more mockups, but I don't know what's going to be
included for Jaunty.

Cheers,
Loïc
