I aggree with you Elizabeth and with Fred's article.
I don't think Karen Sandler and Robyn Bergeron are like Scarlett O'Hara in
any way. I don't think there are "white dudes in charge". I have seen men
who are reluctant to working with women but they are the minority. Women
don't have issues getting hired in the tech industry. At least not in my
country (in Romania). The problem is the society that teaches girls that
math is not for them.

The best way to promote the ideea that "computers are not only for boys" is
what Nixie Pixel and Shannon Morse from hack5 are doing. Seeing women on
youtube who talk about tech stuff that they love without mentioning
nonsense like  "dominant culture" is the right way to close this gap. The
best thing is: I don't think they are doing youtube videos to promote women
in IT, but they are doing it because it's fun and because they like it.
