Please don't put words in my mouth, this is not what I'm saying at all.

One of the arguments I've heard was that without logging they liked
the ability to be able to discuss problems with their employer, etc in
channel without worrying - this troubled me. I was merely pointing out
that the channel is not a super safe, secret place that some people
seem to believe it is.

This should be taken into consideration when we make our policy for
what the channel purpose is, we don't want to write a policy with the
assumption that everything in the channel will be secret. I don't want
to encourage people to report incidents there with details and then
find out 3 months later that someone posted the log online and we (or
the individual who reported it) is now suffering serious consequences
because of it.
