I feel I should say that in my experience, the FOSS world is getting more women
friendly.  I experience/see/become aware of less awkward experiences at the
various conferences I go to each year.  Flaming is not tolerated on any of the
100 or so mailing lists I'm subscribed to.  Even "RTFM" isn't tolerated as an
answer (although providing an answer which is mostly references to where to
educate yourself is - thankfully).

On the other hand, I'm not on some of the mailing lists that get pinged most for
that kind of behaviour...

I am seeing huge improvements over where we were at more than a decade though,
and this is a huge achievement!
