Some unrelated third person will therefore get an annoying message.
That's the first problem.
The second problem is that, more often than not, the third-party
recipient will click "Spam" on it. Your verification messages will then
itself be regarded as spam. Instead, they'll cause your email system to
be blacklisted, or legitimate queries will fail to arrive.
