It's almost unrelated, but since I have the attention of some Google
Calendar users, let me plug my own creation -

the GeekEventAggregator Google calendar is automatically populated by a
web-scraping script, and can be useful to search for upcoming events you may
never have heard of.  See

and, of course, the script that does the scraping is Python running on
Ubuntu.  :)
