I have a little experience with packaging. I patch some of my Ubuntu
packages with new features, update them from new upstream sources,
rebuilt a few Edgy packages for my Dapper system, or just rebuild other
peoples packages for amd64. I haven't really gotten involved in the
Ubuntu packaging community, though I should package my eMusic client
when I make the next release.
I've reported and provided fixes for some packaging problems I've
encountered. This Launchpad search should show them:

I listed my programming experience in the last mail. I'd be glad to
assist someone working on new or existing Ubuntu utilities, particularly
those written in Python.
Hope that helps,
Matt Good
