[ubuntu-women] introduction

Hi there -

I just joined this list and thought I would introduce myself. I'm not
an Ubuntu developer, but as a member of the Canonical executive
management team, I contribute to the project in many other ways. My job
at Canonical involves leading business development, finance &
administration, marketing, project management and other operational
pieces of the company. I don't do any hands on technical work these
days, but prior to working with Ubuntu, I spent many years developing
software and managing software development projects. Much of that work
was in male-dominated environments, and I know first hand how valuable
initiatives like UbuntuWomen can be for the project and the individuals
involved. My work experience includes stints in health promotion,
artificial intelligence, and defence domains and while I am based in
London now, I previously lived in the US and Japan.

I'm thrilled to see the ubuntu-women list and community emerge, and look
forward to seeing it grow and flourish. Please let me know if there is
anything I can do to help.

Cheers,
Jane
