To volunteer in Ubuntu you dont need to run the unstable version of
Ubuntu, unless you plan to help with testing and development (which
would be great of course :-))
There are many teams in Ubuntu and you could get involved in Art,
translation, bug squashing, documentation, ... basically anything you
choose to do.
