Welcome to Jackie!
I enjoyed reading your post. I ran MkLinux on a separate partition
with Mac OS 8-9, which I think was easier than double-booting,
although it had its own issues. ;) I use Mac OSX now, which I find
the best of both worlds.
I hope you find the list fun and informative, and keep spreading the
word about free software! :)

Sounds like home. It's winter here now (Renmark in South Australia),
raining even, which is unusual in the desert, and hard to remember we
had close to 50 deg. C here last summer. I could do with some dry,
baking heat! (Is there a file-transfer format for good weather yet?)
