Assuming that you are in the USA (the omission of your location, is not
helpful), in searching for your specified computer, the google result
has a price in the listed results, at hp.com, of $369, but, on the web
page linked from that result
(https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-laptop-17z-cp300-799v0av-1), is
the price of "starting at $749.99", with the following specifications
(all you needed to do, was do a google search for the device (as
sinister as google is, it still has its uses) ):

My understanding is that MS Win11 is a hostile OS, with MS forcing
people to update to it, and, that MS Win11 obstructs installation of
other OS's such as Linux.

With having bought a number of refurbished computers, with MS Win10
installed, I installed Linux on them, without significant problems.

I note that the above specifications include a inbuilt (or, included)
Realtek Wifi adaptor, which should not be a problem, in terms of Ubuntu
drivers - the only problem that I have encountered, is that my most
powerful refubished computer, has a Realtek Wifi dongle, and, to get the
driver for that, I had to install the driver and the initial other
divers and update, using USB tethering on my cellphone, but, that was
not a significant problem. I think that your greatest problem, with that
computer model, would be getting past MS Win11, which I would not go
near. It is like walking into quicksand, which some people seem to like
doing.
