SDD+HDD drive/partition/vol setup thoughts

Hi.

To begin, thanks for all the inputs from the thread, regarding
possibly running Ubuntu/Linux on a current 17" laptop (hp  17z-cp300
amd ryzen 5 7530). It appears that I can get/buy wifi usb adapter,
that should (hopefully) work with Ubuntu, so I could test the liveusb
(Ubuntu) processs.

I'd now like to get comments/thoughts on setting up the
drive/partition/vol. Size/Name/Use Case/Etc...

I'm thinking that the test laptop would have a SSD+HDD.

It's been a while since I've gone through this process, and decades
ago, the sysAdmin process set all this up.

Different sites have different approaches, so I thought I'd see what
the list has to say.

I'm looking to set the test system up in a manner similar to a real
biz, as opposed to a side-gig/hobby.
