Running .AppImage files under 24.04

Thank you Aaron and Robert for your replies.

Attempting to run any .AppImage file on my Thinkpad X1 Carbon resulted 
in a permission error. This lead me down the wrong path looking for a 
cure. Running any .AppImage file on a IdeaPad resulted in a sandbox 
error. Armed with this new information I quickly discovered the 
"--no-sandbox" option which is a workaround but works.

I found this advice on askubuntu:

add "|kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0| to 
|/etc/sysctl.d/local.conf"|

|This doesn't have any obvious benefit and I'll see what advice can be 
found in the link provided.|
