Failure installing Ubuntu 24.04 on an USB stick

It would be interesting to get a look at the conditional statement
that handles the error messages to eliminate all the known conditions
they test for as an explanation for this. The process of elimination
works well for diagnosing appendicitis. Maybe it would work well here,
too.
