grub repair fails on dual boot

Hello.

I am no expert , but, I wonder whether it would be worth trying to 
perform a new clean install of the Linux OS.

In that, depending on how soon you need to get the Linux installation 
working, my understanding is that Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is due to be released 
in about four weeks.

I do not run MS Windows, and, so, do not run Windows 10 updates. From 
memory, I have read headlines in the Register, indicating that Microsoft 
released some bodgy and harmful Windows 10 updates, whereby updated 
Windows 10 changed its usefulness to the boat anchor grade.

Someone more knowledgeable on each of these points, can probably correct 
or confirm what I have stated/suggested.
