bananapim5 vs dns

Wondering if systemd-resolved is being obnoxious? I've have problems with
systemd-resolved being bitchy about not wanting to talk to a local bind9
server running on a local Linux system, and generally being a pain in the ass
about handling DNS... *I've* generally disabled systemd-resolved when this
happens, and things work much better with a good "old-fashioned"
/etc/resolv.conf file.
