Do you mean running xterm, or another terminal emulator?

I am running a 24" screen on each of my computers, with 1920 x 1080
resolution, and, I (in running Mate), run the Mate terminal emulator, in
the GUI environment, and, as mentioned recently, in another thread, use
the mouse to mark blocks of text (click with dominant mouse button, at
start of block of text to be marked, then, <SHIFT><click with dominant
mouse button> at end of text to be marked, then, <CTRL><C> to copy text,
and, <CTRL><V> to paste text.

And, to take screenshots of text window (terminal emulator), I use the
Mate Take Screenshot application; mate-screenshot --interactive .

Is that what you want?

Or, do you mean going to <ALT><F1> ?
