Yup, I used to.

Now I use deb-get for all that kind of stuff. It's a very useful tool.

Very good advice. Recommended.

Bret: it's probably there. It might show up in MATE's app menu if you
reboot. If not, follow Ian's method.

For future use: either use

flatpak install zoom

or install deb-get from the link above. Very handy for proprietary
tools and ones only found in their own repositories. Manually curated
so it's incomplete but the big names are all there.
