How do I find installed application zoom

gdebi always does this after installing something, because it still has 
the .deb file open, and now sees that it is installed, and sez to its 
little self, "Gosh, the file I have open is the same as the 
[now-]installed version."  If it appeared BEFORE installation, that 
would be a different matter, but for it to appear AFTER installation is 
IMNSHO a bug.
