Why am I seeing this message about 'esm-apps' on just one system?

why do you not want to know about open security holes on your system ?
note that ubuntu pro is free for general users, it provides security
fixes for all (25000+) packages in universe now that have never been
there before (there were (and still are) a hand-full of universe
packages that received security fixes from community maintainers, but
the majority never saw any).

to provide that service *someone* needs to pay for it (commercial
users) since it requires a whole team to manage and backport these CVEs
... to make sure these commercial users do not abuse the feature, there
simply needs to be a registration. somon pays, but it is not you ...

apt would not tell you about them if they were actually up to date with
all CVE fixes ...
