I'm a dyslexic, but I read anyway. If you don't read, you risk to brick
the device. However, as Oli already pointed out, you are not necessarily
screwed, much likely it's possible to rescue your device, if something
should go wrong.

You should consider to read the postmarketOS links I provided.

It might be possible to install this Alpine Linux based OS without the
need to gain power user skills or more. But keep in mind, they mention
"The experience will not be as polished as running Android or iOS."
