I know *exactly*what you are talking about.

A good friend of mine died last year, of cancer, at nearly 80. After
he discovered that he had cancer he bought a Harley Davidson so that
he could continue riding for a little bit longer: The lower seat
height enabled him to get on and off the bike more easily, despite the
tumours damaging his hip.

His estate would really like me to buy the bike, so that it goes to
one of his friends. Before the latest crash my fiancée was quite
supportive of this. Now, she is dead set against it, and I do fully
understand why. :'(
