Migrate Outlook into Thunderbird?

Right,
I found a slightly different howto here:

which basically is the same as your link except it is a bit more detailed.
And it also uses the non-existing "Preferences" item to use...

But I followed it and that was what finally fixed my date format problem.
All other suggestions using different locale specifiers etc did NOT work at all.
(Turns out that the swedish locale sv_SE.utf-8 was not even selectable on my
system, the closest one was the Denmark one...)

Anyway setting the two specific config items like this solved it:

intl.date_time.pattern_override.date_short = yyyy-MM-dd
intl.date_time.pattern_override.connector_short = {1} {0}
